ps. It's SUMMER

Howdy howdy howdy, guess what? It's finally summer! Before this past Wednesday I pretty much spent all my time procrastinating/trying to convince my roommates not to study, but now that's all over! Wednesday was spent by the pool catching up with a big group of friends, followed by some northgate action. Thursday was spent watching Glee, Modern Family, and Run Ricky Run.

Also, in case you haven't heard, we recently got a new stray dog that is staying at our house because he had to move out of his apartment. His name is Levi.

He is so messy and hard to potty-train.

And he's always putting gross things like Copenhagen in his mouth!! yuck-o!

He does make a great running buddy though and these past couple of days have been cool and cloudy and actually great running weather. Even our run on Friday through the rain turned out feeling really nice because it was surprisingly not humid!

:) But this evening Levi was busy working for the Corps and my roommates were all back home, so what did I do?

Bake cookies! (and eat a good 6 by myself!)

and CRAFT!

I put up the two paintings I did over dead week in my bathroom hallway.

And look what happened to come in the mail yesterday??

YES! A big box of used wine corks that I have spent a good bit of time battling over on Ebay!

I had a big empty frame that I got for $16.90 instead of the original $169.00 in the clearance section at Hobby Lobby and so I grabbed my hot glue gun and got to crafting. I finished watching all of 17 Again while I was gluing, but in the end it was worth it! A corkboard to hang above my desk in my room!

I can't believe I have been living in this room for almost a year now and I still haven't finished decorating it. Baby steps I suppose...

One big baby step I took was buying this amazing headboard. I bought it from this lady named, Mandie who buys used furniture, refinishes and paints it! She custom painted this headboard just for me and I could not be happier!

Well I am off for another night of shenanigans. Tomorrow Levi's brother, Jacob, is driving up to College Station to help him load all of his stuff out of my townhouse and back to Lufkin! And I will be packing and preparing to spend the next 6 days at LeaderShape! Deets on that when I get back on Saturday!

Love, Pristine

  1. You've always made good cookies. I love those paintings! The colors in the second one remind me of sherbert :) That corkboard thing is awesome. Very creative. I was wondering what your plans were for those. Hahaha. I loved 17 Again to the point Tim thought I had a crush on Zac Efron when we were watching it, lol. I didn't think he looked like a young Matthew Perry at first, but he did a really good job of acting like him with the way he talked and everything.
